Thomas Estopare

Thomas Estopare, Associate

Thomas’ purpose as a lawyer is trying cases. After graduating law school, he joined the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in order to try cases. In serving as lead counsel in hundreds of cases over four years he learned to isolate the key facts of any dispute to focus judges and juries on his clients’ position. Much of his work was in high-stakes cases involving sexual assault, drug trafficking, and violent felonies.

In 2021 he transitioned to private practice and assumed legal counseling responsibilities for a healthcare company whose operations included two long-term care facilities and an assisted living facility. As General Counsel, he supervised outside counsel defending medical negligence cases and advised the corporation on operations and regulatory issues. In 2022, he returned to the courtroom to directly defend medical negligence cases.

Thomas joined Bartosiak Makepeace in 2024 to focus on trial work. His spectrum of experience litigating disputes and managing legal risk for healthcare providers permits Thomas to meet our client’s unique expectations. Thomas is currently responsible for malpractice, premises, and operation-related lawsuits for hospitals, long-term care facilities, surgeons, and physicians in a multitude of specialties. He represents professionals in State and Federal court, as well as before the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts when licensure and disciplinary issues arise.
